MMS

Medical Massage Specialists. Lead developer and core stakeholder. 2023 to present. Ithaca, NY.

An extant client and landmark project, and a pilot for proving GloriousFlywheel concepts in a real business stack.

My bounded hardware and cluster shaped the requirements and architecture. Those constraints motivated the compute-once, O(1) lifecycle goal and the scheduling work.

The entire business stack for MassageIthaca.com, grown through four business expansions over three years.

Stack: SvelteKit, Skeleton (we are a core sponsor and contributor to Skeleton UI), hosting on-prem hardened Kubernetes, Zod validation + svelte-superforms (for which we are a core contributor), OTel stack.

Bespoke accounting middleware and CLI tools for tax and accounting, written in Python interacting with GnuCash and Acuity Scheduling.

Business operations moved 4 times into larger facilities; multiple rebrands and advertising campaigns. Mailgun + on-prem mail IO; code and infra wholly owned by MMS, with the project serving as a GloriousFlywheel pilot.

Entire bespoke mail stack, user ontology, inventory system and membership lifecycle fully hostable inside a recycled bus on solar power, proofing GloriousFlywheel concepts under the project's physical constraints.

Merlin Sound ID

Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Macaulay Library. Computer vision software engineer. 2019 to 2021. Ithaca, NY.

Developed and launched Merlin Sound ID, a production fine-grained audio classification system used by millions worldwide.

Built the annotation tooling, the model evaluation web APIs and the MLOps pipelines behind it, and co-launched The Machine Learning Blog at the Macaulay Library.
